The ever active and agreeable Office of Campus Life and Leadership has several events planned for MCC - PV students throughout the remainder of April.
As students may have noticed, the organization presents Must Know Mondays every Monday, with events and assemblies that address varying topics to help keep the student body entertained, stimulated, and satisfied whilst still coping with the remainder of the semester.
For example, on April 16, MCC - Longview's Jim McGraw will reference some much-needed and perfectly-timed relaxation tips as finals steadily approach. The following Monday (April 23), a presentation on the perfect resume will be espoused by Melanie Brown, and Lisa Spaulding will walk students through the essay-test-taking nightmare on April 30. These events begin at 11am (McGraw's lecture is scheduled for 10), and Must Know Monday presentations are held in the hidden President's Dining Room just off the basement level cafeteria in CC 005.
Also organized by Campus Life and Leadership and free to the MCC - PV student body: the Save-a-Life Tour, Pet Owner Day, Stress Awareness Day, and Clearly You Crystals.
April 16: The Save-a-Life Tour involves a drunk-driving simulator that will be in the gymnasium. Beware, students: the experience is incredibly intense.
April 17: Pet Owner Day will feature an ambassador from the Wayside Waifs, and will help educate pet owners in the maintenance of health and happiness of beloved pets. The event will take place in the courtyard in front of the Campus Center, and will feature a pet parade and speakers. Please do not bring your pets.
April 18: Stress Awareness Day will help bring peace to the minds of PVCC students. Come experience yoga, relaxation tips, coloring, and making your own stress ball in the cafeteria.
April 23: Students are invited to come have their images etched in 3D in crystal. While free of charge, students must bring a valid student ID and sign in on a roster in order to create an immortalized crystal image.
Events are generally held between 11am and 2pm during the school day, but be prepared for changed locations and times. For more information on these events and more, contact the MCC - Penn Valley Office of Campus Life and Leadership in CC 001, or call them at (816)759-4120.
