What about the First Hundred Hours policies that were touted as great successes in the House? So far, one policy has been signed into law. The minimum wage proposal, the student loans package, and the oil subsidies rollback were all killed in the Senate. The Senate Democrats couldn’t even get a debate on the non-binding war resolution. That’s right, they couldn’t even have a debate on a proposal that meant absolutely nothing.
As soon as the Democrats took their new seats, party elders were standing up to announce their candidacy for President. Hillary Clinton announced her candidacy nine months before her husband did in his election cycle. How about Mrs. Clinton and Mr. Obama stop campaigning and start doing their job? Let's stop worrying if you have said anything to offend anybody in a future election, and start worrying about our friends and neighbors catching shrapnel to protect Big Oil’s interests in the Middle East.
Anyone who says this war is not about oil is sadly mistaken. One of my best friends growing up is now in the 1st Division Infantry: the "bullet-catchers," as they’re called within the service. He says he was well aware of his mission at the onset of the war. As time has gone on, he says that not only has the mission turned into police work, but he has also noticed vast expanses of oil pipes and refineries popping up all over the landscape.
Unfortunately, the Democrats will not be bringing him home anytime soon. Rather than accept that it is possible for America to lose a war, they’re going to let our madman of a President continue to treat our soldiers like pawns in chess (you know, sacrifice them for the King).
Perhaps a military defeat would be good for our country. In future conflicts, we might be less apt to charge into war without considering the repercussions. I’ve been saying this from the start, but France was right. Look at the mess we have now. Who’s going to clean it up?
Well, I’m turning in my membership to the Democratic Party. I don’t want anything to do with them anymore. I voted Democrat to counterbalance the evil empire the Republicans had created, and yet it means nothing. From now on I am a third party supporter, no matter how radical the party doctrine. Neither the Republicans nor the Democrats will receive a vote from me ever again.
