With final exams and winter break approaching, thoughts are hardly focused on enrolling for the spring semester. However, if you plan on attending Penn Valley in the spring, you only have until January 9th to do so.
For returning students, two options are available for enrollment: the web-based MetroLink, or enrollment on campus. The web address is http://www.mcckc.edu, and within the spring schedule booklet, it lists the enrollment process step-by-step. The Metropolitan Community College Spring '07 schedule suggests enrolling early.
Registration began November 6 and continues until January 9. Checking the online schedule of classes is encouraged, since availability is subject to change. The schedule also suggests regularly checking MetroLink to keep up on important fee deadlines. The fee payment deadline is December 11, if the student is enrolled between November 6 and December 10. Tuition payment after December 11 is due next business day, except on January 9, when payment is due the same day.
Tuition payments can be made by the web, through mail, or on campus. Two payment options exist: the Make-A-Payment plan, which means paying tuition and all fees in full, and MCC's Tuition Payment plan, which only requires the first installment of the payment to be made immediately. There is an application fee of $30 to participate in the plan.
If students who have enrolled before November 27 receive a bill in the mail, a stub portion of the bill can be removed and returned with the bill. Include the student name and student identification number on the front of the check. The payment must be received by December 11 to avoid being dropped from classes.
The financial aid priority date was November 30. Students can still apply, but will have to make the first installment of the tuition payment themselves.
Students receiving financial aid must attend all classes in which they are enrolled. If all class attendance stops before 60 percent of the semester is completed, the student must repay the assistance program. For more information, students can consult the Student Financial Aid Handbook or Student Guide at MCC - Penn Valley's financial aid office.
In between study breaks, the holidays, and work, it can be hard to find the time to enroll. MCC has made it easy, quick, and efficient. For more information, consult www.mcckc.edu or review the Spring '07 schedule.
