How have your experiences here at the very diverse MCC-PV campus contributed to your overall outlook on race relations?
Jessica Mattox |
"I think going to a school with a lot of diversity is better because it gives you experience and makes you more rounded. It also helps develop certain principles." |
Brent Wilson |
"A lot of people have an idea of what they think race relations should be, but they don't live and work in a situation where you have to deal with diverse cultures. But here it's everyday, so you can actually find out what works and what doesn't work. When you're actually working with people you might find out how not to step on somebody's toes when you don't intend to. You have to anticipate those kinds of things." |
Nastacia High |
"I've never been sheltered, but there are some people that go here who haven't always been exposed to that. I think that it's a good thing for them, and it doesn't hurt for us to continue to be exposed to that kind of environment."
|
Antjuan Hamby |
"I think it's positive, because I see that all different cultures and races can go to the same college and get educated."
|
Cee Cee Brown |
"You just have to understand that not all people are accustomed to the same things that you are, and you have to be able to respect other people's comfort levels without compromising your beliefs." |
